Safe Cats Are Happy Cats

There are many different kinds of cat collars on the market, so it is important that you choose a cat collar that’s perfect to suit your cat’s needs. The following are some of the types of cat collars:

1. Buckle collar - the easiest type for a cat to wear, since it can be put on and taken off easily and quickly.

2. Adjustable collar – ideal for a younger cat that will need a collar that grows with them, thus saves you from purchasing a new one in the future.

3. Elastic collar - best for cats that do not need the extra weight and bulk of a buckle.

4. Collars with breakaway buckles - immediately frees the cat if he or she becomes caught on something.

5. Collars with reflective materials - keep your precious cat visible and safe at night

Wood dog house

wood dog houseSome dogs need to spend some time outside during the day.  It is good for them to get fresh air, just like it is good for the rest of us!!    Just as dogs love having a crate inside the house, it is nice for them to have a doghouse outside that can keep them out of the sun but also protect them from really cold weather.   It is a nice thing for them to have a dog house, or a “place of their own” to relax while they are outside, in case  of heat or cold.  There is nothing like awooden or even a good solid plastic or fiberglass dog house.  A dog may be kept comfortable by providing him the necessary shelter.  A good dog house is recommended.   Build one yourself, o rder a custome made one,  or a  get a Dog House by Four Paws!!

If you are thinking of getting a pet dog, you must keep in mind that owning a dog comes with responsibilities. It is actually like having a kid. A dog needs tender, loving care just like humans. It also needs exercise as well as regular visits to the veterinarian.

Dog owners must keep track of veterinary visits and must not miss the scheduled vaccines. Dogs, like humans, also need proper nourishment through healthy dog food and dog supplements. Some dogs may be more high maintenance than others. It may actually be costly to take care of dogs but discount dog supplies are plentiful. Buying dog food in bulk may also be wiser because it’s usually cheaper.

Dog tote

Small dogs, or mini dogs as dog lovers like to call them, are great to bring along on errands or trips. Unlike a large dog, a small dog can fit well in a dog tote. Small dogs are easy to carry around because they are lightweight.

Small dogs are adorable, too. It’s so easy to dress them up. They are also easier to manage and everyone seems to love them.

Cat beds

Cats make great pets. For one thing, they look adorable and are soft and cuddly. They also enjoy their solitude when they feel like it.

A cat does not follow you around like a shadow but is there when you need it. Cats love snuggling and curling up in warm cat beds. A cat can act like a princess, but if she feels like one, why stop her?

Cat Scratch Fever

cat scratchingAnyone that has a cat is probably familiar with frayed couch corners, torn-up blinds and shredded carpets; these are all a result of a cat’s scratching. And, if you’re cat’s scratching is annoying you, don’t think you can change the behavior–because you can’t. Scratching is a natural behavior for cats and we all know cats aren’t the best at taking orders. But, what you can do is attempt to control where your cat scratches.

Cats don’t understand physical punishment, so hitting your cat when she scratches is one of the worst things you can do. Cats also have good memories and though they won’t associate you hitting them with their scratching behavior, they will remember that you hurt them and hold a grudge.

Cats scratch for many reasons including; marking their territory, exercise and because it simply feels good. The best option in preventing kitty from shredding your most prized possessions is to provide her with her own cat scratching post. Cats prefer scratching on rough surfaces, so picking a post made of wood is the best option. Also, make sure the post is tall enough so that your cat can stretch to her full height. Lastly, make sure the post is stable and cannot easily be tipped over.
